ECLIPSE

The Environmental Civics in Leadership: Project for Student Engagement (ECLIPSE) empowers rural Colorado youth to drive sustainable change in their home communities. Developed in partnership with Colorado State University and Colorado University of Denver, ECLIPSE combines teacher training, hands-on learning, and community projects to support the next generation of environmental leaders.

Objectives 

Empower rural teachers by providing resources to develop lessons focused on climate and democracy, and connecting rural schools to broader educational networks.

Offer curated content and hands-on learning for rural youth, highlighting local climate change impacts and potential solutions.

Align curriculum development and youth engagement with community priorities and local industry needs, fostering a deep connection to one’s hometown.

Facilitate engaged scholarship collaborations with four-year and two-year institutions across the state.

Celebrate local innovation and create opportunities for cross-community, state, and international collaboration.
