Jim Trengrove is an award winning journalist and communications specialist with four decades of experience in broadcast news production, as a documentary filmmaker and corporate communications strategist.

For 21 years, Trengrove directed the daily political coverage for the PBS NewsHour, writing, and producing short and long form video reports, live studio debates and designing election night and political convention programming. His career also includes news producing at NJPTV (PBS-Trenton), WLS-TV (ABC Chicago), WJLA-TV (ABC-Washington DC) and WTTW-TV (PBS-Chicago).

For six years, Trengrove served as Senior Director of Communications for the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the global, non-profit organization that manages the internet’s Domain Name System. He also created communication strategies internationally, developing a live regional television series for the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry, and trained journalists in Georgia and Armenia at the request of the US State Department.

Trengrove and his wife, Roberta Baskin, live on Lake Jackson in Virginia. They are co-founders of Partners4Democracy, a volunteer advocacy group promoting “get out the vote” efforts nationwide. He serves on The Walter Cronkite Committee of FoolProof, providing free and independent financial literacy to young people.
